"I Can, We Can" Youth as Teachers

The young beneficiaries of the "I Can, We Can" project embarked on an initiatives to teach technology and basic computer skills to their families and neighbors in the local community. Preparations are currently being performed for the initiatives, in which participants will prepare training materials, conduct outreach activities to recruit trainees, and document and evaluate the work. ICT4D-ME organizes a training workshop on Outcome Mapping Beirut

As part of its capacity building efforts for research partners in the region, the ICT4D-ME project organised a training workshop on Outcome Mapping in Beirut, Lebanon from 28 June - 1 July 2010. The workshop was attended by researchers and monitoring and evaluation specialists from partner organisations. During the workshop, participants worked together to develop and refine their evaluation plans and explore effective ways to use their monitoring and evaluation journals in disseminating their research findings and crafting impactful policy briefs.

[I Can, We Can] Launches the Syrian Volunteers project

The participating youth in the "I Can, We Can" project have developed an online platform for volunteers in both Lattakia and Homs. The idea have come when the research team found in focus group results that there is a volunteering issue in the society, so the project participants tried to find a solution to address this issue using ICT.



[I Can, We Can] Computer training project website launched

The computer training in rural schools project team has launched its project website. The website contains awareness information about safe behavior on the Internet, the training materials developed by the project team, and updated about the training activities conducted by the project team.

The recycling project team has launched its project website. The website contains awareness information about recycling, and provides visitors with forms through which they can arrange for the project team to collect and treat their recyclable waste.

[Youth in Technology] Dissemination Day in Sana'a

Youth in Technology for Community Development organized a dissemination day in Sana'a on Wednesday 5 May 2010.

During the event, the project team presented the findings of their research, and launched their latest report: "Youth in Technology for Community Development".

ICT4D Middle East Learning Workshop in Jordan

The ICT4D Middle East project conducted a learning workshop at the Dead Sea in Jordan from 13-17 April 2010

The workshop was a great opportunity for the project partners to convene and discuss the progress and achievements of their projects, and share their learning and experiences.
